Build a Tower
Students were given a certain amount of money ($400.00) to buy building materials (spaghetti and marshmallows). The only directions were to build the tallest tower possible. You can see their efforts below, along with certain geometric structures that are considered the strongest.

We will learn how chess is played on a square based on a coordinate plane. We will learn the names of each piece. We will learn the function of each piece in relation to the whole. We will learn the strengths and weaknesses of each piece. During this unit, we will be sharpening our reasoning and logic skills as we compete against each other in a class tournament.
